Nolan Comments
As much as I've criticized the guy for his performances this season you cant knock his character - highlighted in his comments below.

I hope he can continue where he left off from Chelsea and also find his goal scoring touch again.

“It’s been a tough couple of months for me, it’s been hard and I’m not going to deny it. The only thing I’ve ever known is playing football regularly. When I get my chance I’m going to try and take it, that’s the only thing I can do. I’ve done a lot in my career, I don’t need to prove myself to anyone.

“I’m not thinking about anything else other than West Ham, I’ve had a fantastic time here so far, I love the place, I love the club. I’ve got a great affiliation with everyone involved with the club, I want it to continue and hopefully the opportunities will come"

Over 100 career goals from midfield, so he is not a 'shit' player, he's just not able to do it any more consistently at this level.

Re: Nolan Comments
I was thinking more about Downing, actually.

He's been consistently poor in recent months. The corner he took in the closing stages was shocking. He did something equally shite with a free kick in stoppage time against Arsenal.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man.
And his name isn't Downing.

Haha, Antly is so paranoid he thought ted was having a pOo at Nolan, when it was obvious he was speaking in general terms. Antly then proceeds to have a sly dig at Noble. Brilliant.

Re: Nolan Comments
The worse part a lot all of this dirty period of time for West Ham is that certain people on here and a number of people in the media will be talking fondly about Carroll, nolan and Allardyce in years to come and they will become part of west hams history.

In the summer we need to round up some locals and tell them Carroll, Nolan and Allardyce are false idols we shipped over from Nimrud, they will soon get to work on erasing this history.

Re: Nolan Comments
Nolan is a poor player and it doesn't surprise me there are rumours of him being a piss artist. He had clearly been on the wagon for a few days before Chelsea because he did play quite well.

As HR says it remains to be seen how well he does next weekend because he will be SA's first name on the team sheet once again....

Re: Nolan Comments
Bottom line with Nolan is that he is a very poor player, bordering on comical sometimes the way he can't get his foot above knee height. The other day he showed effort that made up in part for a total absence of quality. He broke up their play a few times.

Nolan doesn't annoy me so much, he's a shit player and can't do much about that, what annoys me is West Ham fans trying to turn a bog-standard performance into the greatest midfield performance since Lothar Matthaus was running things at Italia '90. A couple of successful tackles and he should be the first name on the sheet.

Re: Nolan Comments
ted - That accusation should be made against most of the side.
Against Palace, for example, it seemed expected that we would win, so the players were complacent. The task of taking on Chelsea obviously got them more motivated.

I say "most of the side" because one or two remained decidedly average.

Re: Nolan Comments
So why put in a shift like that against Chelsea yet hardly showed up in lesser games ?
These players are employees and should always give their all.

Re: Nolan Comments
Nolan's rubbish. Always has been.
Attention seeking occasional goal hanger who brings nothing to the table. 10 yard 'sprint' at the start of each half then disappears quicker than you can say Lord Lucan.
And he's definitely not a leader (only to the bar in Loughton allegedly).
He touched the ball a few times against chelsea (he usually spreads THEM out over a few games) and then he puffed his chest out and played to the crowd when he won a fuckin corner near the bml/chicken run (Liked he'd grabbed the last pastie in Greggs in front of his mates).

He can fuck off to league one or two. (As a programme seller somewhere). He's no good to us.
